THE PALOMINO HORSE STUDBOOK

Horse-foal-pony

-Palomino colour	-Any other colour which can produce Palomino -Palomino descendants

-Perlino
-Sorrel

Specifications

	The Palomino horse has a natural gold colour, without any man-made help.
	The colour may vary, lighter or darker.
	Tail and mane are natural white or light creme, without any man-made help.
	Eyes, BOTHE THE SAME COLOUR, are hazelnut or brown.
	White spots must be avoid, they create a depreciation of the coat.
	The blaze, socks and possible signs of wounds, are allowed as long as they don't change the beauty of the horse.
	Signs of other colours are not allowed.
	The cremello is creme coloured en has blue eyes.
	The Isabelle has a yellow shade and black mane
	The sorrel is sorrel.
	The Perlino is pearly coloured.
	Except the colour, model and chape must match the original breed of the horse.

ART 1 . REQUEST REGISTRATION

Transformation of the horse, foal or pony

1.1 REGISTERED IN THE PALOMINO STUDBOOK

The applicant has to send the document of change and also the passport, or, if it's about a horse registered before the year 2000, the certificat of birth, to the secretariat. After the changes are made, the changed/new passport will be send to the owner.

1.2 ALREADY REGISTERED IN ANOTHER STUDBOOK

(Belgian of Foreign)

The applicant has to send the request document and the birth certificat of the horse to the secretariat. The horse will be registered corresponding to his category (according to characteristics). It will get the LABEL PALOMINO.

In case the horse doesn't own papers of his original studbook, we can register the horse. (Beware: a horse may only have one passport)

1.3 WITHOUT BIRTH CERTIFICAT

The owner requests a registration form at the secretariat. Send it back,fully completed by your veterinary or an inspector from the Ministry of Agriculture. Depending on his category, the horse will be registered and receive a certificat "C".

1.4 REGISTERED BY BIRTH

The foal must be registered under the mother's name (1 month) with legal certificat of your veterinary. If registration is to late, we have to double the amount for registration. Registration after 6 months from birth: a DNA test will be performed at cost of owner or breeder of the foal.

The horse answers the "PALOMINO" characteritic.

The birth certificat as well as the regsitration form completed by veterinary or breeder, are send to the secretariat. After a complete controle and corresponding to the foal's description, the passport with certificat is made.

ART 3 . INSPECTIONS

ALLOWED FOR INSPECTIONS

3.1

Palomino stallions, at least 3 years old and registered as A or B

Sorrel or other colour stallions, at least 3 years old and registered as A or B

Perlino stallions, at least 3 years old and registered as A or B

Cremello stallions, at least 3 years old and registered as A or B

Isabelle stallions, at least 3 years old and registered as A or B

Stallions not present by one or other reason, may enter a second inspection.

3.2

If a stallion registered for inspection, couldn't participate by illness, a veterinary's certificat is needed. It has to be delivered to the secretariat within 8 days after the inspection day. If done so, the stallion may enter a second inspection the same year.

3.3

For public service acception, the stallion must obtain 50% of points for "model" as well as "gaits". If no 50% for "model", the stallion will be declined permanently. He may enter a next inspection for "gaints", considering the comments of the jury during the first inspection, and so try to prevent it turns out wrong again.

3.4

According the points given by the jury, the management has the right to accept or decline a stallion for public service or if needed, delay his admition. Each stallion has to enter the inspection.

3.5

Paternity test by blood exemination (or DNA) will take place once a year, requested by the ministery. Selection of the horses to be controled, will be done by draw. RBP will pay for these costs.

3.6

A stallion, accepted for the first time for public service, must be examinated by a veterinary. Mane will be taken and kept in a closed envelope, authenticated by veterinary and owner.

3.7

A stallion is submitted for life if he's approved 5 times for public service. Until he is 15 years old, he has to enter a show once a year. If not been showed for 2 years, a new inspection will take place.

3.8

In purpose to encourage the breeding of little ponys (less than 1 meter), they may enter the show. They will be inspected en possibly excepted for service. This is a temporarily decision. Normally as from 01/01/2007, authorization for ponys in RBP will be the same as subscribed in the reglementation. In no case they may inseminate ponys larger than 1m10. In case that did happen, foals will be registered in Category "C".
